It left 8 days till PhD defence
Before I started my PhD studies in Oslo, I had several research projects related to the meanings of birds in the Viking Age funeral and beliefs. During these, I had the opportunity to visit and study bird bones and artefacts with avian depictions in the various collections. I examined them in the following places:
- Museum of Cultural History, Oslo
- University Museum of Bergen
- Swedish History Museum, Stockholm
- Stockholm City Museum, Stockholm
- Viking Museum Ribe, Ribe
- Archaeozoological Laboratory of the Centre for Baltic and Scandinavian Archaeology (ZBSA), Schleswig
- Zoological Museum, University of Copenhagen, Copenhagen
- Hedeby Viking Museum in Schleswig, Schleswig
Observations, that I did during my research stays in these 8 facilities, were the bases for my analyses in the scope of my PhD thesis.

At the time when I am writing this post numerous Ukrainians in muddy trenches and among ruins keep fighting for freedom, defending peaceful civilians and European values. Many of them are academics, researchers, and students whose works and studies were disrupted by the brutal russian invasion. During their brave actions at the frontlines, they often get wounded and traumatised. On a daily basis, it is required special, professional tactical medical help.
